Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA)

What You’ll Do

As Lead BCBA you build the clinical strength of the team. Working with the Operations Director and the Clinical Director, you develop the BCBAs, BCaBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians who deliver applied behavior analytic (ABA) assessment and treatment to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities.

Day to day that means assessing clients, designing behavior and individual support plans, training caregivers, consulting on cases and attending client related meetings. You work with case managers to review how well functional assessments, behavior plans and individual education plans are working, and to revise them when the data points that way.

You adhere to and promote adherence to the BACB’s Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts, and you carry a weekly billable caseload of service hours set with the Operations Director.

Essential Functions

• Conducts functional behavior assessments and skills assessments, including tools such as the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R and AFLS.
• Designs and writes individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans, and revises them as client data indicates.
• Supervises and trains Registered Behavior Technicians and BCaBAs, including the supervision hours their certification requires.
• Provides caregiver and parent training so skills are supported at home.
• Reviews and analyzes session data and adjusts programming based on what that data shows.
• Writes progress reports and reauthorization documentation for funders within required timelines.
• Collaborates with the clinical team, school staff and outside providers involved in a client’s care.
• Manages an assigned caseload, including scheduling, clinical priorities and weekly billable service hours.
• Maintains compliance with the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts in all clinical and supervisory work.
• Maintains dignity and confidentiality for all clients.
• Maintains and protects the wellbeing of all clients.
• Completes and returns session notes and other paperwork on time and manages client PHI in accordance with HIPAA.
• Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license and the ability to meet Florida’s driving requirements
• Dependable means of transportation

Education & Experience

• A master’s degree or higher in behavior analysis, psychology, education or a closely related field.
• Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA) certification in good standing with the BACB.
• Experience working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities.
• Experience supervising Registered Behavior Technicians, BCaBAs or trainees, preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a real advantage here, since many of the families we serve speak Spanish at home. It is not required.

Work Environment & Physical Demand

• Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Moderate to high stress levels.
• Work fluctuates between a clinical, office, and home environment. Regular contact with Parent / Guardian community members and outside agency personnel.
• Hazards: Incumbent may be exposed to contact with individuals displaying physically aggressive, self-abusive, or socially undesirable behavior.
• Ability and willingness to travel between client locations for appointments as assigned in a punctual manner

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work

This position is available full-time or part-time. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, and your schedule flexes with your caseload and client scheduling. Both of our centers are closed on weekends.

Travel

This position requires travel between our Kissimmee centers, client homes and schools.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Certification maintained in good standing, including the BACB’s continuing education requirements.
• Working knowledge of common assessment tools such as the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R and AFLS.
• Experience preparing assessments, progress reports and reauthorization requests for funders, preferred.
• Comfortable coaching technicians and caregivers and giving direct, usable feedback.
• Bilingual English and Spanish, preferred.
